Mother-son relationship insignificant? I think not

Interesting thoughts, Kari. You point out many uncanny similarities.
However, Hamlet's relationship with Gertrude, and her incestuous relationship with Claudius, are too central to Hamlet (the play, not the char.) to be called insignificant.
