Training in Shakespeare for the actor

Tough question--no easy answer. Your best chance is to go to a good university with an established, fairly traditional English Department, and then spend every summer working with a major Shakespeare Festival. There's so much spurious Shakespeare teaching out there, you're often better off going where it's DONE well (San Diego, Ashland, for example) than where it's merely TAUGHT.
