Claudius The Moor, Not!.

Claudius need not be a Moor to more closely resemble
one than his brother Hamlet. It would be enough he
have dark hair and Hamlet blonde but it were better
the brothers be differently complexioned.

I can point to examples known to me of brothers that
differ widely, one having taken after the father, the
other the mother. The insult you've catalogued
makes better sense the greater the degree of contrast
between Claudius and Hamlet.

I may have expressed myself poorly.
My inquiry was whether anyone had either seen or
knew of a production in which, by design, Claudius
had been played dark and Hamlet fair.
