What?

Oedipal Complex does not mean that he wanted to have sex with
his mother!!! Hamlet did suffer from it though. This is why
he cannot reconcile the fact that she remarried so early. His
deep seeded resentment stems from this as well. He cannot
condone his mothers actions nor can he condemn her. He wants
to return to the blissful time when all things were paradise for
him, his childhood. He does age 12 years in five acts. This wish
to return to the womb, or be at his mother's breast, is what is
happening. He hates Gertrude because she has been taken away. The
family has been disintegrated. There is even evidence of
resentment towards his father because he was one who would
take away the attention of his mother.
